Volunteering HomeWork With UsVolunteering Our strength comes from the dedicated volunteers and partners who invest their time, skills, and enthusiasm into programs and activities that support our schools and enrich our student’s lives. This takes many forms, such as supporting our extracurriculars and food programs, participating in school improvement projects, coaching, the PALS (Partners Assisting Local Schools) program, mentors and chaperones, or groups like Parent School Support Committees (PSSCs), Home & School Committees, and our District Education Council (DEC). Safety is always our highest priority. Principals will ensure volunteers are appropriately trained and screened. You will be required to review Policy 701, Policy for the Protection of Pupils, and complete a training module. You will also be required to complete a Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Record check at your local police or RCMP station. Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Record Check Form See Policy 728, Volunteers in Schools for more information about the volunteering process at your child’s school.
