All teaching applications must be submitted through ApplyToEducation. To apply, create an account, upload your cover letter, resume, and supporting documents, and apply to the Supply Teacher or other teaching postings.

Certified teachers should include their certificate number and province of issue. Applicants who are NOT certified but have a minimum of two years of post-secondary education may apply for the Local Permit Supply Teacher Posting; however, certified teachers are given priority for interviews.

If you are not eligible for a New Brunswick Teaching Certificate, you may still be authorized to substitute teach in New Brunswick public schools with a Local Teaching Permit.

If you are selected, you will be contacted by email or phone, and interviews are scheduled regularly throughout the school year.

Teachers trained outside Canada* are required to use the services of Pathways to Teach Canada as a first step in their request for certification in New Brunswick.  Refer to Pathways to Teach Canada for more details.

*Teachers trained at the University of Maine at Presque Isle are not required to use the services of Pathways to Teach Canada. Please contact the Office of Teacher Certification for more details.
