Visit Newcomer and International Student Welcome Centre. Kindergarten Kindergarten registration for the next school year opens the week following Thanksgiving each year. Registering in October ensures families are invited to the pre-K activities held throughout the year, which are designed to ensure children have a pleasant transition from home to school. For information on registering your child in kindergarten, visit Kindergarten Registration. Transferring from another New Brunswick school district If our child has previously attended a school in New Brunswick, your current school will help in registering your child in their new school. Provide your new address to your child’s current school, and they will contact your new school to complete the registration. Please note, as per Policy 321, Admission Based on Language, students who transfer from a Francophone school district, will not be admitted into the French Immersion Program. New to New Brunswick If your child has never attended public school in New Brunswick, follow the instructions on the Department of Education Parent Portal site to create an account and pre-register. You will complete the registration in person at your child’s school. If you cannot register online, please reach out to your school to schedule an appointment to register in person. New to Canada If you are looking to register a Newcomer student to ASD-S, you must complete the process through our Newcomer and International Student Welcome Centre. Register as a newcomer if you answer no to any of the following questions: Was your child born in Canada? Is your child a Canadian Citizen? Are both parents Canadian Citizens?
